Working Process
So you decide to hire me. What happens next? Here's a typical project timeline:
- I will talk with you either in person or on the phone. In this meeting, we'll discuss the details and requirements of your project.
- I will follow up with an exact price quote, based on our discussion. This price will remain fixed, unless the project takes a serious change in direction. You know the project cost ahead of time, so you don't have to worry about going over budget.
- I will fax or mail you a signed contract. Nothing too grueling or loaded with jargon – just a simple up-front statement of our responsibilities to each other and the project.
- You will sign the letter or contract and fax it back to me, along with a deposit equaling 1/3rd of the quoted project price. Meanwhile, I'll get started on your project.
- On or before the agreed upon date, I will send you a completed first draft.
- My project quote includes 1-2 revisions, depending on your input. We will both return feedback, edits, and changes in a timely manner. I will continue to work with you until we're both happy with the copy.
- When you approve the completed copy, I'll send the finished product to you in a Microsoft Word document.
- I'll send you my invoice for the remaining 2/3rds of the project fee.
When we both know what to expect ahead of time, it makes the working process more enjoyable and more productive.
